The Newbury Boston
Our Story
Our story began in New York City on January 8, 2014. A few weeks before, we met on a dating app, and decided our first date would be to meet at a wine bar followed by a movie. Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, and a bottle of wine really bring people together.
Our love was passionate, and quickly one of opposites. James, a Massachusetts native, works in digital marketing for Broadway shows. Gabriel, raised in Oxnard, CA., works in marketing & communications in the arts & design industry.
Many of our early dates included seeing shows that Gabriel would fall asleep in, or museum visits that James would get lost in. A bright spot would be the taxi or subway ride home where we could laugh about the new beginnings of our relationship.
A milestone came in our first vacation together to Tulum, MX in 2016. After a few days on the beach and diving into cenotes, over what became James’ favorite hotel breakfast to this day, we decided to move in together.
In Spring 2017, we moved in together in Harlem, NY. The following year, we welcomed our bernedoodle, Winston.
In March 2021, Gabriel was offered a position to work remotely and we made the move to Boston!
We can’t wait to celebrate our wedding, in our new hometown, with you all soon.

Stop by and join us at the Boston Park Plaza the morning after the wedding and say farewell before your trip home!
Breakfast is available from 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., but we plan on meeting in the Cozy Corner at 9:00 a.m.
Travel
Flight
If you are flying in for the wedding, the closest airport is Boston Logan International Airport. Depending on traffic, the airport is about a 20 minute drive to The Newbury Boston hotel.
Train
If you are taking an Amtrak train from New York or another state close by, the best train station to arrive into is Back Bay. Back Bay Station is about a 5 minute drive to The Newbury Boston hotel or a 10-15 minute walk.
You are also able to arrive at South Station, which is a 10 minute drive or 20 minute walk to the hotel.
Driving
If you are driving, the address for The Newbury Boston is 1 Newbury St, Boston, MA 02116. They have valet available for the weekend. There is also another garage at 10 St. James Avenue, just steps away from both The Newbury Boston and The Boston Park Plaza.

Boston Public Garden
Established in 1837, The Public Garden was the first public botanical garden in America.
Two centuries separate the creation of the Boston Common and the Public Garden, and what a difference that period made.
In 1634 the Common was created as America’s first public park; it was practical and pastoral with walkways built for crosstown travel. In contrast, the Public Garden was the first public botanical garden in America. It was decorative and flowery from its inception, featuring meandering pathways for strolling.
Swan Boats
Seven days a week, from early April to late September, the Swan Boats glide in a serpentine course around the lagoon.

Where and when is your wedding?Our wedding is Saturday, May 27, 2023 at The Newbury Boston. The ceremony will begin at 6:00PM, followed by a cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the ceremony.

Is there parking available near your wedding venue?Yes, The Newbury Boston and Boston Park Plaza have valet for guests who are staying at the hotel and guests who are just traveling in for the wedding. What is the dress code?The dress code is formal attire, black-tie invited. We kindly request that guests wear a dark suit & tie or tuxedo; a midi length dress or floor length evening gown.

How can I RSVP and when do I need to RSVP by?We are mailing formal invitations soon and they should arrive to you by April 1, 2023. We kindly ask that you RSVP by April 23, 2023.
